There is something special about winter in the flower world.
While the mornings are crisp and the days a little shorter, the cooler temperatures create some of the year's most beautiful blooms—and the added bonus is they generally last much longer in the vase.
July is all about bulbs. Tulips continue to evolve after they've been arranged, stretching and twisting towards the light, while fragrant hyacinths fill a room with perfume. Jonquils are unmistakably one of winter's signatures, bringing their delicate scent and cheerful yellow tones, while anemones add striking contrast with their rich colours and dramatic dark centres.
These flowers have a relatively short season, making them something to enjoy while they're here. Like much of nature, they arrive, perform beautifully and then make way for the next chapter.
As winter progresses, we'll begin to see the first flowering branches arrive in store. Magnolia, flowering plum, ornamental pear and cherry blossom branches are among the earliest signs that spring is on its way. Their sculptural forms and delicate blossoms bring height, texture and a sense of anticipation for the warmer months ahead.
If you're looking to brighten your home, surprise someone special or simply enjoy what's naturally at its best, now is the perfect time to embrace winter's finest blooms.
We look forward to welcoming spring with you—but for now, we'll happily enjoy
